"Voices In The Darkness"

Written by Carol Frost

This is an Eastertide passion play, depicting the Easter Story . This is the first introductory paragraph..

"Ah, you’re here already! Gathered together on another Palm Sunday, ready to hear once again the Good News of Jesus Christ. We know what happened to Jesus, but we know very little about his family, or his friends, or his followers. And the Gospel writers only sketch fleeting pictures of the people that we are going to meet tonight. Through the ages, some have tried to picture them more clearly for us. Painters on canvas, writers in novels, film makers on celluloid. They seem, for all that, to be simply voices in the past. But in some strange way, from the depths of time they still speak to us".

The play is about an hour long, is one-act, and can be performed more or less anywhere. It doesn't need a stage or any theatrical equipment.

The play is Shareware, i.e. you may perform the play, and download it freely. However if you do use it, a donation to St Georges' Church would be appropriate to acknowledge the work put into it by the author, and the webmaster. Click here for details of our address.
