Thinking of visiting us?
Here are a few things you might want to know.....
Are children welcome at St George’s services?
Absolutely! The 10am Service is very family orientated with Sunday School and Junior church. There is also a well equipped children’s corner to welcome pre-schoolers. If your child is caught short in the service, there is a toilet adjacent to the Lady Chapel as well as nappy changing facilities at the Church Hall.
I haven’t been to St George’s before, can I take Holy Communion?
We believe that all are welcome at the Lord’s table. If you are Confirmed or a child who is admitted to Communion before Confirmation then please join us, alternatively if it is a blessing you would like then please kneel at the altar rail and place one hand on top of the other (this includes children who have not yet been Confirmed or admitted before Confirmation).
Is there disabled access to the Church?
There is parking close to the Church for those who require it, The Church itself is all on one level and the Church Hall is accessible via a ramp. The Church Hall also has Disabled toilet facilities.
Where do I park?
There are limited spaces opposite the Church Hall and a few spaces right by the Church itself, but please leave these for those that need them most. There is lots of on street parking in the surrounding roads.
Is St George’s accessible by public transport?
The 367 bus runs right past our front door! It runs between East Croydon and Bromley North Station. Alternatively you can catch any bus to Shirley Library and walk down Orchard Way to us.
Are there refreshments after the service?
After the 10am service all are welcome to join us in the Church Hall for tea/coffee and biscuits!
